As a fully qualified practitioner, Lorraine bases her treatments on a holistic philosphy to help maintain the dynamic balance between mind, emotions, the body and good health. She sees a wide range of health issues such as debility and general immunity, anxiety, stress, and lack of energy, hormonal imbalances such as PMS, polycystic ovarian disease, menopausal difficulties, and problems caused by prostate enlargement, digestive upsets from hyper-acidity, food intolerances and areas such as IBS and Crohns disease, a great variety of skin problems, asthma, circulatory problems, different types of headache such as migraines and tension, allergies, joint problems, and areas such as liver congestion and overall function. In her herbal practice, she is very interested in the nutritional aspects of a wide range of health problems. She is also influenced by the Western tradition of humoral medicine, a way of looking at people which recognises the unique balance of each individual. In her work as a healer and hypnotherapist, the creative use of relaxation and visualisation is central to her work.

After four years of training with the College of Phytotherapy (Herbal Medicine) Lorraine qualified as a medical herbalist in 1999. She has worked in clinics, at Whipp's Cross Hospital in the dermatology department, is in private practice, and since September 2004 has been tutor and practitioner at the Archway Clinic of Herbal Medicine in North London, providing quality care for patients, as well as being a training clinic for students who are studying for a BSc in Herbal Medicine at Middlesex University.
